Department of Pharmacology

The department of Pharmacology was started in 2002 and MD Pharmacology in 2011. The teaching faculty includes 3 professors, 1 Associate Professor, 2 Assistant Professors and 6 tutors. The department is striving and aspires to provide exposure to the students in wide aspects of Pharmacology by collaborating with industry as well as opportunities to participate in various academic as well as other curricular activities. The department has an approved Pharmacovigilance reporting center, a well-equipped CPCSEA registered Central animal house and industry sponsored projects which significantly have contributed to the development of skills and knowledge to the students. The students under the guidance of enthusiastic and motivated faculty have presented their research/thesis work in various national/international conferences and have received various awards. Faculty take keen interest in mentoring students.

Dr Isabella Topno, Professor and head of the department has done her MD Pharmacology from JIPMER, Pondicherry. Her areas of interests include Pharmacoepidemiology and animal studies. Dr Isabella Topno has a total of 13 publications to her credit. She encourages excellence in students and believes in imparting quality education to all.
